Chris's story:
Nicole, Chris's granddaughter, shared part of Chris’s story. She wrote: “My grandma, Chris, has had a rough go of it the past few months. She has been bounced around from hospitals to skilled nursing centers, and has been displaced from her little home. She recently turned eighty-eight years old and has been facing various health issues like a champ–not complaining, not telling us when things are hurting her or if she's feeling ill because she doesn't want to bother us. Even though she has been handling everything so well, I'm sure she is a bit discouraged. She is lonely and feeling displaced. She lost her husband (my grandpa) fourteen years ago and has gone from driving (she loved to drive!) and living on her own to years of living in a nursing home by herself. She has always been super strong for all of us and we would love to give her this one of a kind gift of love and encouragement.”
